Como asesoría fiscal internacional, les informamos de que los grupos ecologistas muestran su preocupación por la postura en el cambio climático

Como asesoría fiscal internacional, les informamos de que ya se ha elegido al nuevo Secretario General de la OCDE, el exministro de Finanzas australiano, Mathias Cormann.

El Sr. Cormann fue Ministro de Finanzas del Partido Liberal Australiano, de centroderecha, desde 2013 hasta 2020. Cormann se impuso por poco a su compañera de candidatura, la ex comisaria de Comercio de la UE, la sueca Cecilia Malmström.

Los grupos ecologistas han expresado su preocupación por la elección de Cormann como Secretario General de la OCDE, citando la postura del Partido Liberal australiano sobre el cambio climático, dada la importancia de la política de cambio climático en el futuro trabajo de la OCDE. El Sr. Cormann asumirá su cargo el 1 de junio de 2021.

Según los ecologistas, Cormann formó parte de un gobierno australiano que abolió el esquema sobre precios del carbono, no tomó las medidas necesarias para reducir las emisiones y actuó como bloqueador con los foros internacionales.
