Con la finalidad de reparar los daños económicos y sociales causados por la pandemia de coronavirus, la UE ha acordado un plan de recuperación para salir de la crisis

NextGenerationEU es un instrumento temporal de recuperación dotado con 750.000 millones de euros, que contribuirá a reparar los daños económicos y sociales inmediatos causados por la pandemia de coronavirus. La Europa posterior a la COVID-19 será más ecológica, más digital, más resiliente y mejor adaptada a los retos actuales y futuros.

• Mecanismo Europeo de Recuperación y Resiliencia: Este el elemento central de NextGenerationEU, con 672.500 millones de euros en préstamos y subvenciones disponibles para apoyar las reformas e inversiones emprendidas por los países de la UE. El objetivo es mitigar el impacto económico y social causado por la pandemia de coronavirus, así como contribuir a que las economías europeas sean más sostenibles, resilientes y estén mejor preparadas para los retos, y las oportunidades de las transiciones ecológica y digital.
• Ayuda a la Recuperación para la Cohesión y los Territorios de Europa (REACT-UE): NextGenerationEU también incluye 47 500 millones de euros para REACT-UE. Se trata de una nueva iniciativa que continúa y amplía las medidas de respuesta y reparación frente a la crisis, aplicadas a través de la Iniciativa de Inversión en Respuesta al Coronavirus, y la Iniciativa de Inversión en Respuesta al Coronavirus Plus. Los fondos se pondrán a disposición de:

• • El Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER)
  • El Fondo Social Europeo (FSE)
  • El Fondo de Ayuda Europea para las Personas Más Desfavorecidas (FEAD).
